Our Program
What we do
Starting Over offers supervised visitation to non-custodial parents and their children free of charge. Using trained volunteer supervisors, Starting Over provides a safe, warm, encouraging environment for family engagement.
Who we serve
Starting Over serves families in Douglas County, GA and the surrounding communities west of Atlanta. Families are referred to us through DFCS and the local family court systems.
Where we are located
Starting Over holds its visitation sessions on the campus of St. Julian’s Episcopal Church in Douglasville, GA, and has been serving our community for over twenty years.
Our Facilities
Starting Over holds visitation sessions on the campus of St. Julian’s Episcopal Church in Douglasville, GA. The dedicated space is arranged to encourage family interaction. Using an open floor plan, each family is allocated an area while also enabling our supervisors to oversee the visitation. Toys and games are provided. An outdoor area for yard games or quiet time is available.
Getting Started
Families must be referred by their supervising agency (DFCS or family court system).
